Other procedures address certain conditions, such as fracture repair for broken bones and the removal of skin tumours.

At our practice, our veterinary care team regularly performs a wide range of surgical procedures that include: spays, neuters, orthopedic surgeries as well as general soft tissue surgeries (e.g. lump removals and cystotomies).

What do I have to do on the day of my pet’s surgery?

The most important thing you can do for your dog or your cat is to make sure that you arrive on time for their surgery. On any given day, we may have other surgeries scheduled for other patients. Patients who arrive on time help our team to stay on schedule and ensure that every patient receives the best care possible.

Is surgery painful for pets?

During surgery, we ensure that your dog/cat will receive appropriate pain management. After the procedure, we will prescribe medications to help manage and reduce their discomfort during the recovery period. How should I care for my dog/cat who just went through surgery?

Our team will provide you with all of the after-care instructions that you need to make sure that you can properly take care of your pet at home after their procedure. The specifics of aftercare vary from pet to pet but usually involve a combination of follow-up consultations, medications, and modifications to their activities, food and living environments.
