Orthopedics

Supporting cats and dogs living with chronic pain in their joints, bones and ligaments.

Healthy bones and joints are critical for your pet’s quality of life and longevity. Over their lives, they can be exposed to the risk of injury, including bone fractures and ligament damage. At Bow River, we offer orthopedic care in-house, courtesy of Dr. Tom Picherack.

How do I schedule an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon?

Our surgeon operates on a referral basis. Your pet’s veterinarian will refer the case to Dr. Picherack, who can perform the surgery at our facility.

Why would a dog or cat need orthopedic surgery?

Usually, these kinds of surgeries are conducted to treat fractures, torn ligaments, manage congenital disorders, and broken bones. Timely and appropriate surgical management will help your pet return to function more quickly, manage pain, and mitigate long term degenerate disease.
